Farmingdale’s Long Island MMA is home to many UFC fighters. Recently Long Island MMA UFC fighters Ryan LaFlare and Chris Wade picked up huge wins in the UFC, yesterday it was Dennis Bermudez turn to bring home the W to Long Island NY.

Dennis Bermudez was coming off of a two fight losing streak to two top 10 opponents and was looking to rebound yesterday verse Japanese MMA legend Tatsuya Kawajiri.

Dennis Bermudez was looking strong training for his fight at Long Island MMA in preparation for his UFC fight night 83 bout and all of his coaches and training partners were excited to see what a motivated “Menace” could do following his losses to Ricardo Lamas and Jeremy Stephens.

The Menace stepped into the Octagon yesterday looking the best we have ever seen physically and it showed throughout the fight.

In the first round of the fight Kawajiri was able to take Dennis down; Dennis would eventually get up and mount some of his own offense and he eventually transitioned to a kimura early in the round. Dennis attacked the Kimura from Kawajiri’s back but eventually got shucked off and spent most of the round on the bottom.

In the second round Dennis turned the tables when he was able to stuff one of Kawajiri’s take-down attempts and freeze him on his knees. It was from this position that Dennis would deliver the most amount of damage hitting Kawajiri with uninterrupted punches and elbows for nearly a full minute until Kawajiri eventually scrambled out. Dennis would go on to fully dominate the second scoring with heavy combinations and take-downs of his own.

The third round was perhaps the most one sided for Bermudez. Dennis was able to win all of the stand-up exchanges and out wrestled the Japanese power house earning himself a 29-28 unanimous decision victory.

After the fight Long Island MMA’s Dennis Bermudez was asked by Jon Anik who he wanted to fight next Dennis called out Ricardo Lamas and MMA legend BJJ Penn. Who would you rather see Dennis fight?
