UFC 198 is a HUGE UFC fight card. Even with the news that Anderson Silva is out because he needs to get gallbladder surgery it is still a tremendous fight card.

UFC 198 is headlined by a replacement fight but still a fun UFC heavyweight title fight. UFC champion Fabricio Werdum fights number 3 ranked Stipe Miocic. The co main event of the night is also very interesting as Roaldo “Jacare” Souza the number 2 ranked middleweight fights Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort. This is a fight that also could end up with ether man’s hand raised. It will interesting to see what makes the difference in the fight Vitor’s experience or Jacare’s Jiu Jitsu.

UFC 198 marks the UFC debut of Brazilian woman’s powerhouse Cris Cyborg Santos. She will be making her UFC debut against Leslie Smith, the interesting thing about this fight is it’s a catch-weight at 140lbs. Although it is expected for Cyborg to make quick work of Smith, Leslie is a tough opponent for anyone in the woman’s division.

Number 8^th ranked Shogun Rua is also fighting on this card vs 12^th ranked Corey Anderson. This is in our opinion going to be a tough fight for Shogun but he is not to be counted out. This is the fight that should be a finish ether way it goes.

On the Fox Sports 1 Prelims there are also a few good fights. The best one is Demian Maia ranked at #6 and Matt Brown ranked at #8. This could be the headline on a UFC fight Night and its live and free on Fox Sports 1. It will interesting to see if Matt Brown can deal with the Jiu Jitsu game of Maia. Matt is not to be counted out thought and for us at Long Island MMA we are very excited to watch these to engage in an awesome clash of styles.
