Tori Wiesneski Interview | Long Island MMA member interviews

    • What age did you start Training BJJ?

  • I started training BJJ at 12 years old, I am 17 now.

    • Why did you decide to start training?

  • I saw Ronda Rousey fight in the UFC and I wanted to do what she did.

    • What is your favorite part of training?

  • I would say that my favorite part about training would be going live and sparring.

    • Do you prefer Gi or No-Gi? Why?

  • I like to train more Gi, because I can use the grips and do more moves in the Gi and makes other moves way easier to pull off.

    • How has Jiu-Jitsu helped you?

  • Jiu-Jitsu has helped me by giving me a lot more confidence in everyday life not just on the mat.

    • Who has helped you out the most with your training?

  • Coach Brian he is the one that I started training with and he has helped me build my confidence in myself for my Jiu-Jitsu.

    • How does it feel having gone from taking the kids class to now participating in teaching it?

  • It feels pretty cool that I used to take that class and be a part of it and now I get to help kids with their Jiu-Jitsu.

    • Why did you want to start teaching?

  • I saw how much Jiu-Jitsu helped me and I wanted to help other kids with learning the moves and everything.

    • Do you feel that teaching Jiu-Jitsu has improved your own Jiu-Jitsu?

  • It has helped out a ton. Moves that I would normally just do I need to actually sit and think about each step of the move and why the move works.

    • Where do you see yourself going in the future with Jiu-Jitsu? What are your goals?

  • I would love to eventually fight MMA and compete at a big event for Jiu-Jitsu matches .

    • Given your experience with the sport, what advice would you give a young person who is not sure about trying out Jiu-Jitsu?

  • I would say that when training gets hard and difficult to not give up and keep pushing it is all worth it.
