Long Island MMA’s Chris Wade gets yet another replacement.

WADEnewone

This seems to be bit of a trend in the world of Chris Wade and the Long Island MMA camp but Chris just got news that yet again there will be an opponent switch up. Wade now 4-0 in the UFC was scheduled to get a rightfully deserved step up in competition as he was scheduled to face top 15 Rashid Magomedov. However Wade got news earlier this week that Magomedov has pulled out of the fight with an injury and now wade will face Rustam Khabilov.

Chris Wade is always up for a challenge and accepted the fight without hesitation but this is the second opponent in a row that has pulled out with injury. Durring Wade’s last fight he was set to fight talented grappler Taisumov but Wade got a call the week of the event that Taisiumov was having via issues and would not be able to make it to the US. Wade who is always ready to fight any one stepped up on short notice and faced talented stand up specialist Mehdi Baghdad. Although Wade expected to fight a grappler he now was fighting a stand up fighter with less than a week notice.  Even with little to no preparation to fight his new opponent Wade Was able to win his UFC fight night 81 fight against Muay Thai champion by first round rear naked choke!

Wade now looks to continue the trend of knocking off tough late replacement opponents when he steps up to fight Rustam Khabilov. This is the reverse situation of what happened in Wade’s last fight Wade now face a fighter with more of a grappling base in Khabilov when he was preparing for a fighter with more of a striking base in Magomedov.

Long Island MMA’s Chris Wade will now face Rustam Khabilov at UFC Fight Night Rotterdam in the Netherlands on May 8th!
