Long Island MMA kid Keno Z was faced with the difficult task of completing a science project for the Village elementary science fair. Keno trains at Long Island MMA in both Jiu-Jitsu and MMA in the Long Island MMA children’s program. Keno decided to mix his school work with one of his biggest passions, mixed martial arts! Keno has been working a lot of kicks lately in the Long Island MMA children’s MMA classes and he decided he wanted to see what was the best kick to use to send someone flying the furthest.

Keno enlisted the help of Long Island MMA children’s instructors Brian and John and together they compared four kicks the front kick, the round kick, the spinning back kick and the side kick. Keno based how far a person would move based on the swing of the Thai bag when kicked with each attack. Keno, John and Brian each kicked the bag with each kick and Keno then plotted the graph. From the experiment Keno determined that the side kick was the kick that would send someone the furthest.

At Long Island MMA we always encourage the kids to get excited about their school work so it was nice to see students mix their passion of MMA with there work at school. Congratulations on an awesome looking science project Keno. Good luck on Wednesday at the science fair!
