Long Island MMA is home to UFC fighters like “The Menace” Dennis Bermudez, Ryan LaFlare and Chris Wade. Long Island MMA’s pro team has many other professional fighters like Marcos “Loro” Galvo, Ryan Patrovich, Serigo Da Silva and Al Jones. The secret to their success… Innovation.
Long Island MMA has announced today another innovation, they will now accept Bitcoin as payment for memberships!
What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a digital currency. Bitcoin does not have a physical form and only exists electronically.
Bitcoin was invented as a person to person currency system for online payments. Recently larger companies such as the automotive giant Toyota are now accepting Bitcoin, the crypto-currency.
Bitcoin was created in 2008, and has been spreading throughout the world since. The benefit of Bitcoin is there is no banks, no oversight, no one is in control of your money besides you. Bitcoin transactions are public and recorded so if there is a dispute about a purchase there is a public record of it.
Bitcoin will be another option other than paying with cash or credit card. Hopefully this will open up an entire new demographic to Long Island MMA.
Long Island MMA will not be the last MMA gym to accept the crypto-currency but as far as we can tell it’s the first.
