Long Island MMA would like to congratulate our friend “The Funk Master” Aljamain Sterling on his
recent successful bantamweight title defense at Cage Fury Fighting Championship 16.

Aljamain took on the very tough Jiu Jitsu fighter Sidemar Honorio this past Friday. The first round was a
bit of a feeling out process with “The Funk Master” picking his shots and gauging his opponents speed in
order to plan out his future attacks in the later rounds.

In the second round, Sidemar went for a takedown which was reversed by the Long Island Wrestling
standout Aljamain. “The Funk Master” ended up taking Honorio’s back with a body triangle, and
securing a rear naked choke at 4:05 seconds into round two.

That brings Aljamain’s professional MMA record to an unblemished seven wins and zero losses. Great
job Aljamain!
