Congratulations to Chris Wade on a impressive UFC debut ! Chris, who is now 8-1 as a professional mixed martial artist was able to finish his opponent Cain Carrizosain just one minute and twelve seconds of the very first round. Chris displayed his high level wrestling ability by giving his opponent a beautiful hip toss throw landing in side control and eventually switching to an arm in guillotine submission for the victory.
Chris started as an impressive wrestler, being an All-American out of islip, and found MMA here at Long Island Mixed Martial Arts shortly after. Wade is an advocate of hard work pays off and that’s exactly what happened in this fight. Chris is always hard at work here in the gym and always in shape, so it wasn’t as hard of a task as it might be for some others to take a fight in the big show on only two weeks’ notice.
