Long Island Mixed Martial Arts is home to several professional fighters. One of those men, true to his professional nature, will be stepping in to fight on last minute notice at UFC Fight Night on June 6th in New Orleans, Louisiana.  His opponent will be Christos “The Spartan” Giagos. Christos’s record includes a mix between submission losses as well as victories, he may have been able to come out victorious in that regard, however, not against an opponent as skilled in grappling as Chris Wade. When faced with the wrestling of Wade it will be extremely difficult to mount any sort of submission based attack due to his excellent positional awareness and control.

The technical advantage also lies with Chris Wade in regards to the striking aspect of the contest. Chris is a skilled kick boxer and is extremely creative with the way he sets up his combinations. While Giagos is dangerous due to his aggressive style and tendency to maintain pressure on his opponents it is likely that he will be out classed by the diversity of Wades striking.
Wade also possesses tremendous wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills. Under the tutelage of Gregg DePasquale at Long Island MMA Chris has developed strong submissions skills. Perhaps one of Chris’ biggest weapons is the power of his chokes, Chris has many set ups and finishes for his chokes with not only makes him dangerous from one position but from every position.
Training out of Long Island MMA in Farmingdale NY helped Chris strengthen his already strong wrestling background. Training with the likes of Kyle Cerminara, Dennis Bermudez and Ryan LaFlare helped to fortify the strongest part of his game. Chris will be featured on UFC fight Night Boetsch Vs Henderson Saturday June 6th.
